His favourite subject is biology, and is most interested in immunology and oncology, which he explores through courses and projects - he hopes to join the medical field in the future as an academic clinician. Outside of academia he enjoys powerlifting and spending time in nature, especially the mountains.

Derek Martinez is currently a senior at Thomas Jefferson High School in Federal Way, Washington. His favorite subjects are biology and math, and he developed an algorithm to predict influenza A point mutations this past summer at MIT's MOSTEC program. In his free time, he likes to write music for local ensembles and play violin.

Fascinated by technological advancements in healthcare, her favorite subjects in STEM are Biology and Computer Science, however she is also passionate about law and history! Outside of school, Natalie can be found drawing, writing, or finishing her current read.

Nathan's favorite STEM subjects are mathematics and chemistry, though his favorite scientist, Carl Jung, was a psychologist. Armaan is an avid writer, published poet, and mathematician and aspires to join the medical field one day.
